What's in My Purse

You know how Al Pacino said "Say hello to my little friend!"? Well...my purse is my little friend-it's always at my side and it has everything that I need. I don't know about you, but I more than often bring my purse to school than my text book-it's my "arm candy"! I have TONS of purses(I don't even use all of them) , but the one below is what I happen to be using right now. I got it at a neat little church yard sale for just 50 cents-just another "new thing" for school(all my other new school stuff will be in a later post!)! But, anyway, I put all my purses to good use and this one is no different. Below is what I usually keep in my purse. Oh, and there's actually ALOT more in the abyss called my purse, but I'm too lazy to take pictures of all of it!

One Wish For California Graduates

I heard this recently on 20/20. Apparently, California seniors ALL expect to get some form of plastic surgery as soon as they graduate! It's so sad-both males and females demand plastic surgery BEFORE they even think about going to college! I never thought that the superficiality over there was that bad, but then again it's the silicone capital of the world. But, the worst part about it is that the parents agree. It's crazy! No honey, you don't need a big career. You need big boobs...try to imagine your parents saying that! Honestly, I think it's kind of loony! Are they from another planet? Seriously, though, my family and I went there when I was about 6 or 7(somewhere around there) and I hardly remember anything anout the place(and we stayed there for about 6 months!). All I do remember however, is how fake everyone looked. Not to mention, that guy who was screaming that he had a dollar bill... and that woman who insisted that my stepdad was George Clooney and that he had maliciously beat her when they were together...see what I mean!? Anyway, i think it's very sad and scary. I live here in Indiana and we're way behind California-they're like ten years ahead of us! The scary thing is that we'll eventually catch up with them. Ahhh! Real Monsters! Help!

This Could Be the Beginning of Something Big!

Hello everybody in cyberspace! My name is Heather and as you can tell from the .com, I am a senior in highschool. Well, school starts here on August 13th, but I'll be a freshman in college in only a year or so. I'm both excited and anxious about my senior year of high school-there will be so much excitement over friends, prom, and other things-like getting accepted into the college of your dreams! But, I'm so nervous about leaving alot of my friends at the end of the school year and even getting accepted into the college of my choice.
Anyway, I haven't yet applied to any colleges. The college that's really on my mind is IUS(IU is too big!). I've actually never visited it, but it's still my "dream college." It's close to home and alot of people that I know are also planning to attend the same college. I know that I shouldn't worry too much about being accepted there. I get great grades(mostly A's and B's), I took the Act and got a 24 out of 36, and I've prayed about the whole year ahead constantly!
But, I still find myself worrying Alot! I have to admit-I'm a little scared of going to college! It all seems a little intimidating, if you know what I mean. First of all, I don't look my age. I'm 100 pounds at 5'4" and I find myself getting really timid lately, which may be surprising to some of my friends. And second of all, i don't want to grow up just yet! It makes me want to cry just thinking about being in the so called real world. :( I mean, I'm always someone who lets her inner child out and now I feel like I need to grow up all the sudden(maybe I should have grown up a long time ago!) and it's actually alot of stress! I'm just freaking out that maybe I'll fail in the real world!
But, anyway, this is what you'll have to put up with on this blog. But, you'll also have to put up with the happy times as well. Who knows? Maybe this will really help me with the next year or so, writing this blog and all. And if you're a senior as well, maybe this will help you to realize that maybe your trip to college was so much easier or maybe you'll sit back and see that it was just as hard and that it's all something that every senior has to go through, those of them that are even going to college! So follow me on my journey through college applications, senior pictures, work, friendships, acceptance, prom, graduation, and yada, yada, yada. i guess that all I have to remember is that college will be cool once I get there. And getting there is half the fun. :)
